How do I place a table in a subject area by editing the xml from the reverse engineering tool

I have a large database that I would like to pre-group via subject areas before I import the xml into Vertabelo. Is it possible to hand edit the reverse engineer xml to add several subject areas and then associate tables with those subject areas?

Hi,

Yes, it is possible. There is no association between tables and subject areas in the XML per se. Association is based on position and size of subject areas and tables. Association rule is "rectangle of the table must be inside of rectangle of subject area". Since we do not provide command line tools to examine and validate XML files I think it will be easier to do it in Vertabelo.

Do you have an XSD available for your XML format?
Yes. We described the Vertabelo XML format in one of our blog article - Vertabelo XML version 2.1

At the begging of this article you also find link to the Vertabelo XSD.
