Recommended Engine when Preferred Engine is not Available

Noah 4 years ago updated by Adam Mościcki 4 years ago 1

We want to use Vertabelo to generate ERDs and CREATE TABLE scripts. However we are going to be building our database with Presto. Since that's not one of the available engines, we are thinking we'd just pick one and then make adjustments later as needed. Is this a decent idea? Is there anything that might trip us up? Are one of the engines preferred over others? Thanks!

Hello,

I think there are many differences between Presto and other engines. Therefore adjustments can be huge. I think Postgres has the most similar DDL to Presto.

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee any of the engines will work.

Hope this helps,
Adam
