More advance index creation required

Roger Thomas 11 aastat tagasi uuendaja Jarosław Błąd (CEO) 11 aastat tagasi 1
Currently its not possible to define indexes that use a sub length of a column. This is often used for char and byte type fields that are very long.

In mysql you can do the following

    CREATE INDEX part_of_name ON customer (name(10));

I would like to create multiple diagrams within a single model

John Rojas 11 aastat tagasi uuendatud 11 aastat tagasi 2
It seems that only one diagram is allowed per model.  For large databases, having a single diagram does not work so well.

Why can't you allow creating multiple diagrams for a single model.

Also, subject areas does not work as well, because they require related tables to be close to each other within a diagram.

With multiple diagrams, you can create diagrams specific to some topic and still use subject areas to group tables within the diagram.

Thanks!

Please, alway show scrollbar in columns section

Thanaphat Suwannikornkul 11 aastat tagasi uuendaja Jarosław Błąd (CEO) 11 aastat tagasi 3
Please, alway show scrollbar in columns section because when I use this section for table that have a few column I found a problem.
First I expand column's property by click arrow down button that make scroll bar appear and delete button moved.
Then I want to collapse this column's property without move my mouse so I hit the moved delete button.

Don'tt update the column type PK-FK relationships

Michael Medina 11 aastat tagasi uuendaja anonymous 11 aastat tagasi 3
When I change the column type to another value in a table with PK in another table that contains the FK does not update.

It will correct this?

Sorry for my english, thanks.

Not updating the type of FK column is a desired behaviour. This is because you can have, for instance, "SERIAL" datatype for your PK and "INT" type for FK and this is perfectly valid structure (I'm talking about PostgreSQL now, but such cases exist in other RDBMSs as well).
If you change the PK type and the types of PK and FK don't match, you should get an error in the "Problems" section.

Importing DMD files

Is there a way to import .dmd files(oracle plataform)? Because I have some db normalizations that I have to implant in my project. If not, that would be a great and useful idea! :)

Obs: Sorry for my english, I need to improve that.

The import of .dmd files is not possible yet. We're planning to add import from various database modeling tools in the future but certainly not in the next couple of months. For now, you can try our reverse engineering tool or import from SQL scripts.

Support for NoSQL databases (MongoDB)

Jason Futch 11 aastat tagasi uuendaja Jarosław Błąd (CEO) 11 aastat tagasi 3
I know if you expanded support for NoSQL DBs (MongoDB) our company would jump fully on board. You have the basics to do this already and really no competitors.

Is there plans for this?

unique column

Dan Fumosa 11 aastat tagasi uuendaja anonymous 11 aastat tagasi 1
I looked around in the diagram editor but I'm not able to find where I can make a column unique.  This would be helpful when generating SQL to inject into my database.  Is this just a feature thats not implement or am I just missing it.  Thanks for the help!

We support UNIQUE statement. This is called "alternate key" and you can find it in the table properties panel.
