How can I extract sql script only for changes that we made on our model

Kesiya Abraham 9 year бұрын updated by anonymous 8 year бұрын 6

If I add a new column,how can I generate SQL script for that particular change

Answer
anonymous 9 year бұрын

Hello,

There is no way to that easily right now. You can generate 'drop' script and 'creation' script, but it works only for fresh databases and requires deletion of data in the table.

We've implemented a migration tool which can do that, but we are still testing it. We are going to release it in about 2 weeks.

I hope this helps.

Where I can find them?

cannot view my own imported sql database

Denise Field 8 year бұрын updated by anonymous 8 year бұрын 7

The file imports successfully but then will not view, I click on the database and get

Oops we've got a problem. Something went wrong ... Reload page

I just upgraded to the premium subscriptin specifically to be able to to this, but if it doesn't work this is useless to me, can you sort it.

Error 'Cannot create more than one clustered index on table' when running Vertabelo generated scripts

Dave Sopko 8 year бұрын updated by anonymous 8 year бұрын 2

SQL Server. When specifying a multi-column clustered index that is not the primary key I get the following error when running the Vertabelo generated scripts.

Cannot create more than one clustered index on table 'DietCalendar'.

-- Table: DietCalendar
CREATE TABLE DietCalendar (
ID uniqueidentifier NOT NULL,
UserID uniqueidentifier NOT NULL,
EntryDate datetime2 NOT NULL,
CONSTRAINT DietCalendar_pk PRIMARY KEY (ID)
);
CREATE UNIQUE CLUSTERED INDEX UCI_DieteCalendar_UserID_EntryDate_ID on DietCalendar (UserID ASC,EntryDate ASC,ID ASC);

In order for this to be compatible with SQL Server 2012 as well as Azure SQL versions, I need Vertabelo to generate the clustered index within the 'CREATE TABLE' statement in this fashion:

CREATE TABLE DietCalendar (
ID uniqueidentifier NOT NULL,
UserID uniqueidentifier NOT NULL,
EntryDate datetime2 NOT NULL,
CONSTRAINT DietCalendar_pk PRIMARY KEY NONCLUSTERED (ID),
INDEX UCI_DieteCalendar_UserID_EntryDate_ID UNIQUE CLUSTERED (UserID ASC,EntryDate ASC,ID ASC)
);

Reverse engineer from SQL Scripts

Minglin Deng 8 year бұрын updated by Adam Mościcki 8 year бұрын 1

Hello,

Does this tool have ability to import from SQL statements?

The reverse engineering tool on your site is 3+ years old.

Any improvements on your reverse engineering since year 2013??

Thanks.

Answer
Adam Mościcki 8 year бұрын

Hello,

I have answered for privert ticket, but this might be helpful to others.

The reverse engineering tool imports tables from database directly.

Import from SQL script can be done on the 'new model' page.

Please add flow charts for software development

Dean Martin 8 year бұрын 0

I would love to see a flow chart option. I know its not the same as SQL DB, but when doing software design and planning we use flowcharts for organizing the program flow / decisions trees / user interface etc... They sit right along side our DB development, often side by side, one informing the development of the other. Based on your engine it should be simple to add a basic flowcharting function to your system. (Heck we can fake it now almost with tables and relationships). We currently use Draw.io, but your pure cloud based, team approach would be better.

Postgresql warnings on valid types

Shawn Lewis 8 year бұрын 0

I'm seeing a warning on a postgresql table where I have a column of type "real[]". There's another ticket mentioning that array types won't be supported, but it would be nice if vertebello recognized valid unsupported types so I don't get warnings on valid postgres schemas.
