Hello,

I have checked our logs and found that there occurred a few network connection failures while saving a model.

We need more information about the circumstances to investigate further.

1. Can you please provide the name of the model, which is affected

2. Do you use a laptop?

3. Which Operation System do you use?

4. Do you use a reliable network connection? Is it a WiFi or cable connection?

Some battery saving policies result in network errors. That is my hypothesis based on the information I have right now.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Adam

Hello,

Can you please tell me what is the result of the following command

java -version

If your Java version is between 9 and 11, please try adding the additional parameter:

--add-modules java.xml.bind

Applied for command you posted:

java --add-modules java.xml.bind -cp .;reverse-engineering.jar;ojdbc6.jar com.vertabelo.reverse.Main -url "jdbc:oracle:thin:@//localhost:1521/xe" -user USERNAME -password
password1234 -o localhost_file

Hope this helps,

Adam

Hello,

There is no "double precision" type on the list of the available types in the UI. However you can type it by hand. I mean like this:

Hello Chris,

Thank you for the details of the problem. We will try to fix it.

it only allowed me to choose one from my computer. Is there a way to do this that I missed?

You have not missed anything. There is no way to do that. Your idea is great. I wonder why we have not implemented it :)

If not, I'm not sure what the purpose of the "Create new SQL script" feature is.

The SQL script editor had more options, ie. executing on a database. To be honest, we have abandoned some of them because they caused more problems than profits. Since then, we have suspended the development of "SQL script" part.

Thanks,

Adam

Hi Chris,

Yes, I meant the SQL script file. Sorry for not being precise enough.

I think that our app is not properly processing files not encoded with UTF-8. Since files are not processed properly they are not stored and I can't reproduce the error. That is why I am asking for the SQL script.

BTW, May I ask you what OS do you use?

Best regards,

Adam

Hello,

Hello,

A physical model is a model that can be easily converted to an SQL script.

A logical model is intended for conceptual/logical database design. The logical modeler is our new feature, which we have introduced recently. We are working on the conversion from a logical model to a physical model. The feature will be added soon (ca. 2 months I believe).

The conversion from a physical to logical model is much harder, I can't estimate when it will be added.

Hope this helps,
Adam
